Sole Proprietorship

A sole proprietorship is the default business form for one person conducting a business. Typically, this structure takes the form of a DBA arrangement (Doing Business As). Compared to the other corporate structures, this ownership form is not considered a separate “entity” from the individual running the business. Though it is the simplest of business forms, it does not offer limited liability and it may severely limit a businesses financing options.
